Fuel cost formula

Fuel used = distance × fuel consumption ÷ 100.

Trip cost = fuel used × fuel price.

Example

For a 250 km trip with 7.5 L/100 km consumption, fuel used is 18.75 L. If fuel costs 1.45 per liter, the trip costs 27.19.

Why real cost can differ

Traffic, speed, tires, weather, road type and driving style can change real fuel use.

Best use

Use this estimate before a trip, when splitting costs, or when comparing routes.
